Featured Member - September 2003

Our September 2003 featured
member is Liz Nicholas. Liz is a relatively new member of Melville
Theatre Company, having only joined us in 2002 but she is no
stranger to theatre. In her native New Zealand Liz was involved
in theatre for many years, acting in a variety of straight plays,
comedies and musicals.
Her involvement with MTC
has (so far) been strictly behind the scenes - starting as ASM
for No Names, No Packdrill and proceeding to Stage
Manager for our 2002 One-Act Season. Her debut as Stage Manager
was so successful that she won the award for Best Stage Manager
at the 2002 ITA Dramafest for her work on Interior Designs.
She was ASM again for Secret
Bridesmaids' Business and was talked into a very small
appearance on stage and her latest outing was once again as
Stage Manager for The Liver Birds in July 2003. During
rehearsals for the latter play she was called on to "read
in" several times for missing actors and showed that she
is a fine actor in her own right. Hopefully we can persuade
to her to "tread the boards" again for MTC.
A talented and valuable
addition to our Company. Thank you Liz!
